Клименко С.В. Айва обыкновенная (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) в лесостепи Украины: итоги интродукции и селекции // Сборник научных трудов Никит. ботан. сада. – 2009. – Т. 131. – С. 117-122.

Подведены итоги 50-летних исследований по интродукции и селекции айвы обыкновенной (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) в Национальном ботаническом саду им. Н.Н. Гришко (НБС) в Киеве, где создан генофонд сортов и форм с большим биологическим и помологическим разнообразием свойств. Обобщены данные о биоэкологических особенностях, обоснованы концептуальные положения о расширении ареала айвы и ее культуре в лесостепи Украины. Пять сортов селекции НБС внесены в Реестр сортов растений Украины. Насаждения ежегодно обильно плодоносят, зимо- и морозостойки.

The results of the 50-years researches on introduction and breeding of quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) have been summed up in the National Botanical Gardens named after Gryshko (NBG) in Kyiv where the genefund of the varieties and forms with wide biological and pomological diversity has been collected. The data about bioecological peculiarities have been summarized. The basis concept of widening of the quince areal and its cultivation in the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine have been substantiated. Five quince varieties of the NBG‟s selection have been included into Register of plants cultivars of Ukraine. They are very productive, frost and winter resistant.
