Освещены результаты многолетней работы по интродукции и селекции нетрадиционных растений в Украине. Среди них такие, как Cydonia oblonga, Amygdalus communis, Ficus carica, Hippophae rhamnoides, Actinidia, Cornus mas, Diospyros kaki, Lonicera edulus, Viburnum opulus, Morus alba, Zizyphus jujube. В ботанических садах собраны богатые генофонды этих видов.
Показано значение интродукционных популяций для увеличения биоразнообразия и прикладной селекции.
Освещена роль сорта как завершающего этапа интродукции и селекции и достижения в селекции нетрадиционных плодовых растений в Украине. Перспективные сорта их внесены в «Реестр сортов растений Украины».

Introduction and selection of nontraditional fruit plants in Ukraine

The results of long-term work on introduction and selection of nontraditional fruit plants in Ukraine have been presented. Among them there are Cydonia oblonga, Amygdalus communis, Ficus carica, Hippophae rhamnoides, different varieties of Actinidia, Cornus mas, Diospyros kaki, Lonicera edulus, Viburnum opulus, Morus alba, Zizyphus jujube etc. Rich genetic fund of nontraditional fruit plants has been collecteed in the Botanical Gardens of Ukraine.
The significance of the introduction populations for enlargement of the diversity and applied selection has been shown. The role of cultivar as the last part of introduction and selection and also the achievements in selection of nontraditional fruit plants in Ukraine has been described. Perspective varieties of these species have been included in the ”Register of Plants Varieties of Ukraine”.
